I found this article very relevant to the current generation of us with various social activities distracting our God given hours of peaceful sleep. A night owl myself, I thought it is important for all of us to know the importance of A God given blissful sleep. Please read and enjoy the beautiful explanation with scientific and spiritual quotes…..

SOUND SLEEP—A GIFT OF GOD

William Shakespeare wrote in his play ‘ Macbeth ‘ , “………the innocent sleep, Sleep that knits the ravell’d sleave of care, the death of each day’s life, so labor ‘s bath, Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course, Chief nourisher in life’s feast “.
Through these words, Shakespeare explains that sleep is a time when our minds are at rest and the subconscious mind comes out to play. Sleep is also what heals and cures our minds and bodies. Without sleep we slowly begin to disintegrate. Mind and body cannot cooperate without the healing force of sleep. Shakespeare uses sleep both as a reward and as a consequence in his plays. If a character is innocent and pure, he is allowed restful, fulfilling sleep. If the character lacks these traits of goodness, he is condemned to a life time.

Well... me... I love to read, write, binge watch tons of movies and series and enjoys good music. Educated enough to enlighten a few things to a few some who shows the interest to listen. Love to explore the unknown territories, to know and understand more. Now busy learning to unlearn. This is me in a nutshell.

      1. I doubt his record, hw can we be sure he didn’t nap in between back at that time. No official recording would have been done in 1960s and he was only 17. Really who can go without sleep more than 3 days?

  2. My God ! So much information about Sleep !
I never realised the importance of sleep !
How well things are put in this article about importance of not just sleep but good sleeep!
And it’s going to be a good lesson for people around the world who are duty concious but refuse to take care of their body concerns and refuse to heed the body signals.
The article is well researched and written point by point,
The author also gives the most dangerous example-the case of one Mr.Randy Gardners.
So age is nothing to do with one doing these crazy things, and the lack of sleep on a daily basis.
And imagine the accumulated sleep for the whole year !
My feeling is if one goes to bed at …say 12.30 am ( early morning ) and gets up at 5.30 am ( hardly 5 hours) ,you can imagine the short fall of sleep for the whole
    year !
The pity is ….every body loves to preach….but rarely practice what they preach !
It’s a funny world full of funny people….and we all love them and thier fun…is it not so ?
Sincere thanks to you,Ana for posting this very relevant topic……a must read for the present and earlier generation population and also everyone in general.

    1. Yes indeed a well researched and well scripted post of Mr. Harry Herbert. ..This post along with urs opened my eyes enough to realise the necessity of it to shut down at the right time… Sadly yes the one who preaches does it too (Me….Me and only me, I meant here…no one else). But I guess people who loves us and cares for us means the best for us…be it Harry ji ya you ji….☺
