Three Day Quote Challenge: Day 3

IMG-20180505-WA0004

I have been nominated by “Cascades of Happines ”. You can read all her post at https://cascadesofhappiness.wordpress.com Thank you so much for choosing me for this! Your blog is a delight to read. With a wide coverage, its one of the finest I have come across. Being an Associate Professor in English, and being somebody who has presented her papers in many universities outside India, her command over the language is remarkable throughout all her posts. Do drop in at her blog  to read her wonderful posts.

Now I have to post a quote for consecutive three days and explain why the quote appeals to me. And today  is my 3rd and final day and this is my 3rd and final quote of this challenge.

So, for  the final quote, I have chosen a very beautiful and a very educative quote which says, anything which makes us humble, even if it is a mistake, is much better in our life, than any success or an achievement which makes us arrogant or a proud fool. Thus proving time and again how much humility and humbleness is necessary in a persons life. Here I remember a proverb, which I have learned in my childhood ‘Pride goes before a fall’. So time and again it is proven arrogance reaps nothing but a big fall from a height and lands us in a pit.

Here I would like to state an example of a great and respected musician’s real life incident. He is none other than the pride of India A. R. Rahman. When he was called on the stage to receive his prestigious Oscar Awards also called as Academy awards for  (Best Original Score and Best Original Song) for the movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, he began his first sentence by raising the trophy high and said ‘ Ella pugazhum Irraivanukke ‘, which in English  means All the praises belong to The God. I am sure many would have been humbled by this statement that day as he was the only one to be thankful to God among all the pomp and extravaganza put up on the venue. And not a bit of arrogance was shown by him on receiving the most prestigious Award in the world.

So this quote too finds a place in my favourites.  I found this quote as the right choice to wind up this challenge and I hope that you my readers find it pleasing to their soul too.

The rules for this challenge are;

Uhmm! What do I say abt myself. Love to read, write, watch tons of movies and loves music. Educated enough to enlighten a few things to a few some who shows the interest to listen. This is me in a nutshell. Will let out little by little, like the cat out of the bag. Ok I think it's time to let out one more passion of mine, which I as much love as writing, and that is cooking. Trying out different new recipies with a slight variation added of mine makes my culinary skills a little adventurous cuisine.

    1. The quote was not told by A R Rahman. But I remembered his quality when i posted this quote as he reflected it in his real life inspite winning the most prestigious award. And ya the language was Tamil, A. R. Rahman’s mother tongue.

      1. I must admit, yes. I don’t usually participate in challenges and awards. Perhaps i find the conditions starting with thanking the challenger/ proposer etc too strenuous.
        But I certainly don’t want to miss a single one from you.
        And I find them quite valuable
